Once more it was a very lively day in the old monastery's settings of the University of Education, Weingarten: In cooperation with four teacher training institutions from the cities of Albstadt, Laupheim, Weingarten and Reutlingen, the colleagues of the university’s Mathematics department welcomed about 160 teachers and teacher trainees. The eighth edition of this conference on mathematics teaching with the inspiring name ”Do Maths!” (“Macht Mathe!”) took place on November 21st, 2025. Two keynote speakers, Prof. Dr. Andreas Büchter (University of Duisburg-Essen) and Prof. Dr. Christof Schreiber (Justus Liebig University Giessen) framed the conference and addressed its annual theme ”Didactic Principles” from a scientific perspective. In between both keynotes, participants could choose from a wide range of workshops that addressed the theme from a practical teaching perspective both in primary and in secondary education. Once more this lively and well-attended conference brought together researchers and practitioners and systematically intertwined research findings with examples of implementation into teaching practice. All participants highly appreciated insights into teaching mathematics in a conceptually grounded and understanding-oriented manner at different educational levels.

The next Macht Mathe!-conference takes place on April 9th, 2027.
