CLILA – CLIL Learner Assessment

Thus far, there has not been any concrete or fully developed considerations in research or CLIL-lessons in primary schools concerning the evaluation and promotion of a pupil’s language and content ability. The current state of a pupil’s ability should be considered in order to promote and evaluate it adequately so that the development of their competences in the foreign language and subject matter can be considered.

The project‘s main goal is to develop an enquiry and assessment tool to measure a primary school pupil’s content and foreign language ability in CLIL lessons. The tool will be composed of (1) the Common European Framework (CEF), (2) the model of lingualevel (2007) , (3) the description of competences in the content subjects and (4) the curriculum of the subjects involved.


With the help of CLIL-teachers, descriptors, evaluation scales and examples of assessment tasks will be developed and tested in the classroom. A revised form will be published and used in continuing education courses for teachers.
